The Academy for Science and Continuing Education in Diabetes and Obesity (ASCEND) is a CME-accredited programme designed to improve the care of people with diabetes and obesity worldwide. Led by an international faculty, ASCEND provides practical, independent content about diabetes and weight management for medical practitioners. This programme is supported by an educational grant from Novo Nordisk A/S.
The ASCEND programme is organized by International Medical Press (IMP), specialist providers of independent and accredited medical education. In collaboration with a Steering Committee of experts in obesity management and the European Association for the Study of Obesity (EASO), IMP is developing a programme of practical training for obesity clinics with aspirations to become recognized specialist obesity treatment centres. The programme will be delivered at a national or regional level by established specialist obesity clinics that are selected as ASCEND Obesity training facilities.
